Photogravure

Hand-pulled photogravure is a process which unites the virtues of photography and intaglio printmaking. Precisely redorded detail combined with the rich tone and physical presence of ink on fine paper can result in a work that is almost startlingly beautiful. More than any other process, photogravure combines the etherial visual transparency of the photograph, its connection with the absent recorded world, with the mysterious, tactile earthiness of the present physical object.
